Artist's Comments

Heya guys!

Same drill as the previous one- I scanned the original sketch, penned it out in Photoshop, then colored it. However, I'm more satisfied with how this one came out. This is Sonic, not old, just older... (Get a cookie if you guess where that line came from).

He's probably in his twenties, and this is how he'll look in 'The Legend Continues' flashbacks.

I've also drawn how Knuckles and Tails would look in that same time period - We'll see if I ever get around posting them ^^

Enjoy!

Excellent, looks kind of 3-d ish by the looks of it. Lakes of lining, unblurred shading, all give it that feel. Very nice. :aww:

I love the blocky cel-shaded polygonal look you got going on here. Love his shoe design as well. Sonic!

Now that is a cool Sonic style. I happen to feel very nostalgic here because it seems like you went a step BELOW the Sonic Adventure art, yet were keeping in touch with the original Sonic 1-3 artwork and went a step beyond that! [so it's like a Sonic Alpha sketch in a way *Street Fighter joke there*]

The thing is, you kept the old fashioned color job Sonic had in the GENESIS games, and I so happen to respect that. Highly might I add. This way it's not that 'hip styled hairbrushing' (No seriouslly, I got that from the official site when they talked about the character designs. c.x]

Hey, this picture is getting an immediate favorites because you did something with the character not a lot of peopel would do: Keep him the same old fashioned way with LIGHT differences that could be like a prototype for Sonic Adventure.

The color job here is well, solid and not massive fade outs and gradients and I respect that. I mean, hey, it's worked for Sonic in the 'good old days" and they're called the GOOD old days for a reason right?

The shoes, yeah, ok, I'll admit, they do look a little on that Adventure side, but it's a cool design. [Like he's sponsering Nike or something.]

I can honestly say you did a fantastic job on this pal. I am seriouslly impressed with this. Nice one. ^ ^

I really like your style. Great job. The pose works nice because you did the hands so well.

a mí me cuesta mucho imaginar a sonic de tan mayor, no es un tipo de personaje q pueda envejecer, con tails es más fácil pq es muy niño y basta con kitarle los rasgos aniñados... ou, te ha kedao mu guapo
:icontotalmayhem:
This is cool! :D

If I didn't know any better, I'd say that was a Modelled Sonic, just due to the outlines :)
Great work XD

Dont run away from your fears... Destroy them

Cool. Nice one, there.

I sorta always preferred the original Sonic, the short one from the old games. Dunno why...
